SIGNARAMA Launches New Online Design Website!

SIGNARAMA, Australia’s largest full-service sign and graphics franchise, has released Australia’s first state-of-the-art online signage design and ordering tool.

Like many franchisors adopting a successful ‘bricks and clicks’ strategy, SIGNARAMA have created a sign design playground on their company website.

Available 24/7 with a few clicks of the mouse, customers are able to create their own sign design from scratch, or modify any of the thousands of templates available, putting convenience and control in the hands of the customer.

“This groundbreaking online system allows customers to create their own banners, signs, decals, lettering and displays from the convenience of their own computer,” says Jim Tatem, President of SIGNARAMA. “Customers can pick up at their local store, have the order shipped to them, or have it sent out of town to trade shows and other events.”

SIGNARAMA is the first franchised sign company to offer this online capability. Now customers can benefit from the in-store personal service they’ve grown to trust for more than 20 years, as well as the convenience of ordering anytime online.

With more than 900 retail locations worldwide and almost 90 Australia-wide, SIGNARAMA uses cutting-edge industry software programs to provide a full range of comprehensive sign and graphic services to both the private and commercial segments of the business community.

SIGNARAMA has Mambourin all wrapped up

Leading sign and graphics franchise, SIGNARAMA, recently gave away a car wrap at their Australasian EXPO in Melbourne.  The lucky recipient was disability services provider, Mambourin, a company that helps to place people with intellectual disabilities into the workforce.

Evan Foster, SIGNARAMA’s National Director for Australia, said that it was a great thing for the brand to be able to give something to the community.  “At our franchise conference each year, we have our own trade show just for our franchisees.  One of our suppliers will always bring in their vehicle and do some training on installations of vehicle wraps, but at the end of each event the graphics are removed.  It seemed like such a waste,” said Foster.

“Our franchisee from Hoppers Crossing, Russell Williams, had the great idea for us to donate a vehicle wrap to a local charity in Melbourne and that’s where Mambourin fits in.”

At a retail value of close to $3,500, the Mambourin vehicle is sure to turn heads.  Mambourin CEO, Rohan Braddy, was thrilled at the donation and the result.  “This is our first vehicle to have a full wrap and we’re delighted.  Not just because of the awareness and attention it will bring, but also that the people we transport in these vehicles love colour and movement and they will love riding in the car.  It will be a real highlight.”

A willing group of volunteers all threw in their time and rolled up their sleeves to get the job done, according to Foster.  “A job like this would usually take 2 people 6-8 hours at least,” he said.  “However we had a number of guys throw up their hands and so we were able to hand the car back in less than 4 ½ hours.”

SIGNARAMA is Australia’s largest sign and graphics franchise with close to 90 locations across the country.

SIGNARAMA Launches Industry First Share Competition

Leading sign and graphics franchise SIGNARAMA is undertaking an Australian-first social media campaign as it looks to expand its social profile and engage with their customers.

SIGNARAMA is calling on smart phone ‘happy snappers’ around the country to enter their national Photo Share Competition.  Sharing digital photography is all the rage, with Flickr receiving almost 5,000 images shot with an iPhone 4 every day and Facebook receiving over three billion photos a month.

Now SIGNARAMA wants to see those phones and cameras pointed at signs around the country, with more than a little creative flair thrown in.  The emphasis will be design, with the sign being the “hero” of the shot.

“In the modern landscape we’re surrounded by signs, but do we notice them?” asks SIGNARAMA’s National Director, Evan Foster. “This is a national call-out to people to pay attention and get creative.  We want to see original and interesting shots using the sign as part of the design.”

The judging panel includes Karoline Cumming of Clear Identity Graphic Design, Lindsay Smith of Eleven Eleven Design and Acacia Hayes of SIGNARAMA Surry Hills.

First prize is a Sony Alpha Nex-5 Digital Camera with 18-55mm e-mount lens valued at $878.99.

If successful, this will be the first of many forays into the Social Media space for the brand, says Foster.  “We’ve already got some great campaigns targeting specific industries planned over the next few months on Social Media.  It’s a new area for us but we’re excited about the possibilities to drive enquiries for our franchisees and to have more conversations with our customers.”

The Share A Sign competition opened on August 17th and closes on September 26th, 2011. Multiple entries are welcomed and the most creative will appear on the Best Entries Gallery on SIGNARAMA’s competition site at www.shareasign.com.au

SIGNARAMA and EmbroidMe Reverse National Confidence Trend

United Franchise Group brands SIGNARAMA and EmbroidMe are two examples of Australian franchises that have exceeded expectations and reversed the confidence trend currently seen in retail across Australia.  Both franchises have broken their sales records in 2011 and the outlook over the next 6-12 months is for even greater growth says United Franchise Group’s Australian Director Evan Foster.

“Our ‘bricks and mortar’ brands have been performing extremely well so far this year,” said Foster.  “We’ve recorded new records for SIGNARAMA in both March and again in June and for EmbroidMe in May and again June.”  Foster says the group is on track to surpass their group-wide sales goal of $69m.
