WORLDWIDE GIVES CHRISTMAS IN JULY GIFT TO QUALITY CHARITY

It’s Christmas in July, and to celebrate, Worldwide Online Printing has donated $16,711 to children’s charity Camp Quality.

Bringing smiles to children affected by cancer and their families is the main goal of Sydney-based charity, Camp Quality. And for several years now, Worldwide Online Printing has been helping achieve this goal by raising money for the charity through its annual Christmas card campaign.

The latest donation of $16,711 was presented to Camp Quality in July at the Olympic Tennis Centre in NSW, where some of the children participate in tennis clinics.

As part of an ongoing commitment to support Camp Quality, Worldwide donates 10 cents for every Christmas card sold from their official Christmas charity range through its 80 plus design and print centres nationwide.

For over 25 years, Camp Quality has been using fun therapy to bring happiness and optimism to children living with cancer and their families. Today, they support 25,000 kids every year through family support, education, recreational and hospital programs. Worldwide’s donation will be used to fund a range of recreational activities, including Camp Quality’s popular camps.

“Here at Camp Quality we love that the Christmas cards spread happiness and laughter at a time when people traditionally celebrate family and give thanks for the good things in their life. We’re delighted with their success and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Worldwide,” said Simon Rountree, Camp Quality CEO.

Worldwide has begun its 2009 campaign by announcing the call for entries to design this year’s Christmas charity range. In a bid to raise even more funds this Christmas season, Worldwide has included calendars in its campaign. The successful designs will become the official 2009 charity range and 10 cents for every card and calendar sold will once again go to Camp Quality.

“Organisations like Camp Quality provide an invaluable service to the community. It’s a pleasure to be involved with them and a joy to see the results of their wonderful work,” said Donald MacKenzie, Worldwide CEO.

As well as helping Camp quality, Worldwide supports a number of other community initiatives, including the Zig Zag Foundation in Qld, Anglicare’s OpShop Ball in WA and Melbourne-based charity group Spirit of Sharing.

The Camp Quality Christmas charity range will appear in Worldwide stores in September.

Visit www.campquality.org.au to find out more about Camp Quality’s programs or to make a donation.

Entries into Worldwide’s design competition can be made online before 6pm on 7 August.

The winning entry will receive a MacBook Air.

MORTGAGE CHOICE CELEBRATES

Australia’s largest independently-owned mortgage broker, Mortgage Choice is proud to have claimed the number one ranking in the Top 25 Brokerages list compiled by Mortgage Business magazine.

It has been a stellar year for the nationwide franchisor, during which it also received these accolades: Retail Aggregator / Originator of the Year at the 2009 MFAA Awards, a place on the 2009 BRW Fast Franchises list, Best Financial Institution Employer at the 2009 Australian Banking & Finance Awards and a place on the 2009 Great Place to Work® Institute Best Companies to Work For list.

Mortgage Choice Chief Executive Officer, Michael Russell said the company was excited to pip so many quality mortgage brokers at the post.

“We are proud to have been in business almost 17 years, and are especially proud of the accolades we have won in recent years. The inaugural Mortgage Business award definitely belongs in that category,” he said.

“Our number one ranking ahead of all franchise and non-franchise mortgage brokerages is a reflection of the passion, hard work and dedication of our franchise network to their customer service proposition.

“We are also pleased to see the company ranked number one across the Volumes, Loan Book and Business Growth categories. These results are only a precursor of what we have planned for the future.

“I would like to send out a big thank you and congratulations to all Mortgage Choice representatives as well as our fantastic 23-member lender panel, loyal business partners and extensive referral networks.

“This company is striving to strengthen its value for all key stakeholders while retaining our position as an industry leader, which has well and truly been demonstrated by this award. We are actively seeking opportunities to broaden and fine-tune our customer proposition so our franchisees, customers, investors and partners continue to ‘make the right move’.”

30% of new franchisees recruited online

Results from a Franchisor Expansion Study by 10 Thousand Feet into the Australian franchising industry reports the following:

  • Just 10 per cent of Australian franchisors reported negative growth in 2008

  • Despite this, the $40 million plus franchisors spend on marketing each year to attract new franchisees will be significantly cut in 2009

  • Newspaper ad revenues will be one of the areas to suffer most, with just 11 per cent of new franchise leads generated through this medium in 2008 – down from 18 per cent in 2007.

In contrast, online and word of mouth recruitment strategies are set to grow with 29 per cent of new franchisees were recruited via word of mouth in 2008, and 30 per cent of new franchisees recruited

via online avenues!
