SPIRIT OF SHARING IS WORLDWIDE

Aussie printer’s continued support gives Fijian kids real sports equipment. The franchisees of Aussie print group Worldwide Online Printing have continued the support they began in 2007, with what is becoming a regular donation to children’s charity group the Spirit of Sharing Mission, at Worldwide’s annual company conference.

Dedicated Melbournian sports coach Peter Cole’s crusade to make a difference to the lives of Fiji’s impoverished school children first touched the hearts of Worldwide’s franchisees and management at their 2007 Conference in Fiji, where they donated $2,500 to the charity.

In 2009, Worldwide’s franchisees and staff dug deeper. This year, they have more than quadrupled that amount, donating $11,365 from their own pockets.

The funds will be used to make sure sports equipment and clothing reach Fijian youngsters.

Cole’s tireless crusade began when he visited Fijian schools during a holiday in 2000. "It breaks your heart to see kids forced to improvise games with sticks and bottles, because their playgrounds just don't have the gear," said Cole.

"So I decided to do something about it.”

He pledged to give them more, and launched his Mission in 2001 with a call to Australian families to raid their backyards and toy cupboards for little-used and unwanted bats and balls.

By the end of 2008, the Spirit of Sharing had sent over $400,000 worth of donated sports equipment to over 160 Fijian schools and into the hands of delighted children – many of whom, until then, had never played sport with anything other than empty cans and home-made bats.

This year’s donation of over $11,000 was raised after Worldwide delegates were reminded of Cole’s efforts by the company’s conference coordinator and National Retail Manager Jan Ruzzier.

“The work Peter does with the Spirit of Sharing is so inspiring, and to be able to get Worldwide involved in supporting it has just been wonderful,” said Jan.

Peter was practically speechless when Worldwide CEO Donald MacKenzie presented the cheque. Later, Peter said, “Worldwide Online Printing did an unbelievable job at the conference to raise $11,365. I still cannot believe the generosity of the team!”

Anyone interested in making a donation to the Spirit of Sharing Mission, whether monetary or of pre-loved or new sporting equipment, can visit www.spiritofsharing.com.au or contact Peter Cole on peter@spiritofsharing.com.au or 0439 997 583.

WENDY'S SHAKES UP THINGS TO HELP DISADVANTAGED YOUTH

Participating Wendy’s stores across the country will be selling Mega Shakes to support some of Australia’s less fortunate young people this May – and, for chocolate lovers, this is one initiative that will be even easier to support.

During the last week of Wendy’s Choc-tacular Shakes promotion – from May 4-10 – participating stores will donate $1 from the sale of every Mega Shake to Wendy’s Youth Support* – the national fundraising program set up to support underprivileged young people.

The Choc-tacular Shakes range has three delicious new flavours, including the Mega Triple Choc Shake which is a chocolate thickshake with a scoop of new Triple Choc Chunk ice cream and garnished with choc pieces.  The Mega Choc Mint Cookie Shake is a choc mint flavoured thickshake with a scoop of Mint Madness ice cream topped with chunks of choc mint biscuit pieces and the Mega Double Malt Shake is a chocolate thickshake with double malt, a scoop of Wicked Chocolate ice cream and topped with crispy choc malt pieces.

To support the fundraising initiative, customers simply need to purchase a small or large Mega Shake or a shake from the new Choc-tacular Shakes range which is available for a limited time only.

“We’re proud to be working with our franchisees to raise funds for such a worthy cause – now more than ever it’s important to support those in our communities who are less fortunate,” said Peter Lokan, Wendy’s General Manager of Marketing.

“The grants awarded through Wendy’s Youth Support can make a lasting difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our community.”

Wendy’s Youth Support is a national fundraising program which was set up to support Australia’s disadvantaged children and youth. Launched in 2008, the program offers grants from $500 up to $3,000 to local charities that support underprivileged young people.

Wendy’s covers all the administrative costs with 100% of donations going directly to charities helping disadvantaged youth.

Hard Times - But Maybe A Soft Landing

Jumping J-Jays caters for a new wave of prospects

Jumping J-Jays have reorganised their Franchise system to cater for a new wave of prospects in this recession.

“This is in response to a larger then normal increase in the enquiry level from potential Franchisees that fell a little bit short on the finance requirements but otherwise could have made great small business operators”, quotes Dave Beattie, General Manager of Jumping J-Jays.

As the economy continues to tighten and more people are finding themselves out of work, many are starting to look at the franchise market as a possible next step rather than join the increasing number of job hunters chasing fewer job opportunities. “We have been working on for sometime on how we can further reduce the entry costs for start up franchisees, without comprising our quality and brand” says Dave.

Jumping J-Jays who operates in multiple countries took a hard look at all that was supplied with a franchise and trimmed down the extras that may not be needed in these current economic times and moved a few items to monthly payments rather then upfront.

However this Award Winning rental franchise has increased the franchisees value proposition and their potential ROI by supplying more themes to give a better edge over all competitors.

The Franchise Fee is just $35,000 which now includes all the equipment, tools, accessories and cutting edge software and unique Local Area Marketing programs to run a successful Jumping J-Jays home based business.
