| Donut King refreshes its menu with first foray into low-fat treats |
To snag a slice of Australia’s lucrative health-conscious consumer market, Donut King will take its first strategic step towards healthier snacks with the launch of a new, ‘healthier’ product range. Donut King’s first foray into healthy treats will be its new 99% fat free smoothies made from yoghurt. Available at Donut King’s 300+ stores across Australia, the three Fruity-licious flavours are Berry Buster, Mighty Mango & Banana Rama. The smoothies will be a permanent fixture on Donut King’s menu. Donut King Marketing Manager Tracey Catterall said the smoothies represented a new strategic avenue for the company based on the demands from the health conscious consumer. “More and more Australians are becoming increasingly health-conscious, so we wanted to make sure we continued to offer delicious products that everyone can enjoy. “Australian families have told us they still love Donut King’s delicious donuts, but sometimes parents are interested in a healthier alternative. “Our new smoothie range is now available with yoghurt and is 99% fat free, and contains all the ‘good bacteria’ to help you and your children remain healthy. “From Berry Buster and Banana Rama to Mighty Mango, our new smoothies are a refreshingly cool and healthy alternative. “The smoothies are also a great breakfast alternative when you’re on the go.” As Australia's largest specialty donut and coffee chain, Donut King operates more than 300 stores across Australia, employing over 4,600 staff and serving 30 million donuts to Australians every year. The Donut King franchise network is owned and managed by ASX Listed Retail Food Group Limited (RFG).
