Last month saw another successful launch of yet another Jims Franchise in Australia…. Jims Finance Professionals … and this in a time of some uncertainty in the finance markets.

One person who shows no sign of nerves is Brad Volling, CEO of Jims Finance Professionals who says: “Today’s lenders have reduced customer relationships to a common footprint. We have identified increasing trends in high value customers moving towards service oriented providers where their individual needs can better accommodated.

Finance is now a commodity product and the banks have become the manufacturers, so the focus in developing our franchise network of Financial Professionals is dedicated to returning a vast choice of tailored solutions, high levels of accountability in the loan process and fostering long term customer relationships that deliver ‘wow factors’ throughout individual and changing needs. We are largely recruiting from outside the industry by targeting people who share our ideas on customer satisfaction.”

They seem to be having some success, as they already have 19 franchisees on board, on the way to the target of 214 in the next 24 months.

Mr Volling added, “What this means for the customer is a return to relationship banking! When was the last time your finance provider turned up the kettle and coffees on moving day or bolted on a home manicure to the finance service? This detail is what we are all about. We even hand our clients a mobile phone to call us about their loan progress so they don’t incur such costs themselves!”

Jim’s Finance Professionals engage a panel of over 30 lenders. They do not offer their own product, instead preferring unbiased choice with a comprehensive range of home loans, commercial loans, personal & car loans, leasing and insurance products. They operate in all states with the exclusion of WA. All new franchise owners complete a 2 week Induction Course which includes their Cert IV in Financial Services and specialist training in loan comparison and customer service. They are members of the industry associations and strictly compliant with finance regulations for client protection.

“A recent major lenders survey reported almost 80% of borrowers could not remember their finance providers name 12 months after their loan was settled. This shows the current existence of significantly low levels of ongoing communication with customers. Jim’s Finance Professional will address this situation and create new definitions on customer service as applied to this industry. It’s exciting and it’s long overdue!”

A new franchise concept unseen in the American market has made its way from “Down Under” Australia, in a plan to grow its current franchise network from 60 to 300 in 3 years. Entering the mobile and home based business market specifically targeting kid’s makes this franchise opportunity rank highly in the franchise system marketplace. Inflatable amusements are a niche industry and no one in America does it with such a systemized model like Jumping J-Jays.

Jumping J-Jays chose Dallas, Texas for their American corporate head office as the DFW Metroplex ranked the highest for growth of families and of the housing market.

John Newton owner of the company has also moved from Australia to spear head the set up in North Dallas and has started the campaign for rentals and franchise sales.

Jumping J-Jays has been the industry leader in the franchising sector in Australia and New Zealand for the past three years as its successful system grew from 9 franchises in 2003 to just under 50 today.  A string of awards has driven this party industry rental company to the top from Franchisor of the Year (Home based and mobile) to being named 2 years running in the prestigious Business Review Weekly annual FAST 100 companies. More recently, the Financial Review Magazine (January 2007) rated Jumping J-Jays as one of the ‘Super 7’ Franchise systems that will change your life.

Newton claims that his franchise business owners need no rent, no working capital and they have no out of date stock, and best of all there is no need to leave their day jobs. The business has all inbound calls answered by the call center and all the National marketing is coordinated centrally.  Ninety five percent of all his current franchisees Down Under still work a regular weekday job but dramatically supplement their income on the weekends.

About Jumping J-Jays Castles & Slides

Jumping J-Jays is the largest inflatable amusement company in the world and is the industry leader in safety technology.  With 50 franchises across Australia and the US, Jumping J-Jays services more than 30,000 parties annually.  Franchisees are locals who are committed to providing excellence in service and giving back to their community through various sponsorship programs.

From copycat concepts to scathing media coverage and litigation, ex-franchisees can be a destructive force for any franchise system. With franchisors now required to disclose contact details of former franchisees under changes to the Franchising Code of Conduct, ex-franchisees have more scope than ever to influence the success of a franchise brand.

This free franchise sector briefing, presented by Franchising Australia Survey author Griffith University Professor Lorelle Frazer and Franchise Advisory Centre Director Jason Gehrke, will cover:

  • Why ex-franchisees engage in destructive behaviour, how many do it, and what they hope to achieve
  • Common types of destructive activity, and how to monitor it
  • How to develop processes to maintain positive brand engagement among ex-franchisees

Griffith’s new Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence will also be launched by John O’Brien, Chairman of the Franchise Council of Australia at the seminar.

The Centre will provide a new resource for the franchising sector offering a range of services, courses, research and partnership opportunities.

This is a perfect opportunity to network with franchising executives from a range of local franchise organisations and consultancies.

A simple strategy to keep staff happy and motivated has been the recipe to success for Melbourne business owner Taylor Kaman who operates a successful Trios franchise at the Jam Factory.

Taylor manages to keep work interesting for his staff by swapping their roles around from customer service to kitchen hand regularly. He also organises group activities every couple of months such as days off at the movies. Since opening his store in 2005, Taylor has established a loyal following of customers and increased sales by approximately 25 to 35 percent over the past year.
