Bakers rise for Breast Cancer

Bakers Delight stores across the nation will actively support Australians affected with breast cancer from 24th April – 13th May, 2008.

100% from the sale of specially prepared Pink Finger Buns during the Pink Bun Fundraising Campaign will go directly to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) - helping them continue to assist the 36 women a day diagnosed with breast cancer across Australia.

More than 620 Bakers Delight bakeries throughout Australia are supporting the 2008 Pink Bun campaign and will be organising a variety of community activities to raise awareness of the impact of breast cancer.

BCNA CEO and breast cancer survivor, Lyn Swinburne, said the campaign is a wonderful way to encourage communities and Australia as a whole, to pay tribute to women and their families affected by breast cancer.

“Bakers Delight helps us make a genuine difference to the lives of thousands of women each year and its great to see so many stores nationwide getting involved in their local communities,” Lyn said.

“Monies raised during the Pink Bun campaign will help BCNA distribute My Journey Kits to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. So far BCNA have distributed over 25,000 My Journey Kits – a comprehensive information kit distributed free of charge regardless of where the woman lives in Australia,” she added.

Now in its eighth year, the Pink Bun campaign has raised almost $2 million, directly supporting thousands of women and their families throughout their breast cancer journeys.

Along with buying a Pink Finger bun, Bakers Delight customers are encouraged to leave a personal message in support or memory of a loved one with breast cancer in their community by sponsoring a Pink Lady silhouette at their local store. The community’s sponsored Pink Lady silhouettes will be displayed in the Bakers Delight store as a visual demonstration of local support.

Every Bakers Delight bakery will be creatively decorated in pink during this campaign as they compete for the annual Pink Lady Award, recognising their efforts in raising awareness and valuable dollars for breast cancer. The public is encouraged to get behind the efforts of their favourite bakery and vote for them online at www.bcna.org.au.

Worldwide Online Printing Logo

The OpShop Ball

Everything went at the event where anything goes…and Worldwide Online Printing was proud to add some extra colour!

As a major sponsor of the year's Peet Op Shop Ball for Anglicare WA, Worldwide produced all the material used to communicate the showcase charity event's features and benefits via brochures, posters, auction catalogues and other promotional media.

Held last week at the Burswood Entertainment Complex Grand Ballroom, the annual charity ball's 600 guests raised around $100,000 to help Anglicare's crusade to support community services such as emergency relief, counselling, housing assistance and children's services.

Definitely not black tie, ball guests flocked to Anglicare's second-hand clothing Op-Shops for their attire. The theme was 'Outrageous!' and the random outfits rose to the occasion.

"We were delighted to have been able to be a major sponsor of The Op Shop Ball for its second year," said Worldwide Online Printing CEO Mark Manderson.

"We all lead such hectic lives and rarely get time to pause to consider those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Anglicare's incredible staff and volunteers do so much for the community here in WA, and we seize any and every opportunity we can to support them.

"In fact, we're already geared up to be a major print sponsor again for 2009."

"It was a fantastic night, with great entertainment and a fun vibe," Mark added. "As for the costumes – my polyester suit was quite tame in comparison!"

Ian Craig, Chairman of The Op-Shop Ball and Executive General Manager of Fundraising and Marketing for Anglicare WA, said:

"We couldn't do it without the generous support of our sponsors, including Worldwide Online Printing. The quality of the print and design work gives our event such a professional image and we were overwhelmed again this year by the generosity of the Worldwide Online Printing team."

Anyone interested in sponsoring, donating or volunteering for Anglicare WA can visit their website at www.anglicare.com.au or www.theopshopball.com.au.

Worldwide Adds Even More Colour To Caboolture Festival

Caboolture’s Worldwide Online Printing centre again stepped in to support the town’s popular Multicultural Festival.

Held on Saturday 29th March in the Town Square on King St, the colourful festival of food, displays and dancing celebrated its third year – and continues to grow in popularity and participation. It’s been supported by Worldwide every year.

“As a print sponsor, it’s our job to produce the material which communicates all the amazing features and activities of the festival via brochures, posters and other promotional media,” said Chris Woodman, owner of the Caboolture Worldwide Online Printing design and print centre.

“Having been a regular and proud sponsor of the local Excellence in Business Awards in recent years, we were delighted when the Council asked us if we’d like to support the Festival as well. As a local business, it’s so important to support the community. We’ve sponsored the Multicultural Festival since it started, and we were glad to see that this year’s event went down extremely well!”

Worldwide Caboolture is one of 88 Worldwide local design and print Centres across Australia – there are 22 in Queensland. Worldwide was recently named as Australia’s fastest-growing print franchise by BRW magazine for the fourth consecutive year.
