Event Management Franchise Continues to Expand

Event management franchise Plan Ahead Events has continued to grow, opening its newest agency in Queensland, giving the fledgling franchise coverage across each of the mainland capital cities.

With the addition of experienced event management professional Jenny Marsden in Brisbane CBD, the Plan Ahead Events brand is now positioned all across the country to handle event projects big and small.  This is a big step according to Evan Foster, National Director of Plan Ahead Events’ franchisor, United Franchise Group. 

“Our strategy since launching the brand in Australia has been to get a good coverage of event planners across the country as soon as possible,” explained Foster.  “We’ve now done that and our event planners can now leverage off one another as they handle clients that conduct national events.  We’re the only event management franchise that can offer this national service.”

Tasmanian Entrepreneurs to Entertain a New Bedroom Partner

Expanding specialist bedding franchise, Bedshed is seeking a local entrepreneur to join the fast growing business and open the first Tasmanian stores in Launceston and Hobart. Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Culmsee said the company has identified a highly suitable site in the new Launceston C.H. Smith Lifestyle Centre development, with several Hobart locations also under review.

“Our business strategy is to expand through attracting new franchisees on the east coast of Australia and Tasmania is a key part of that plan,” Mr Culmsee said.

Amazing Cleans' Snapshot

As you are reading this Amazing Clean's Capalaba/Wynnum franchisee is in the process of selling to Stacy Galvin. Stacy is the daughter of the Brendale franchisee who also owns four additional Amazing Clean franchises. Stacy has also agreed to purchase four franchises over the course of next 2 years. She will be a fantastic asset to Amazing Clean and the team at Amazing Clean are looking forward to having her on-board in her own right.

Amazing Clean is going to hold their National Conference in May 2012 and will be launching new branding and updated occupational health and safety guidelines.

Sign*A*Rama Milton Awarded MVP Award

Sign*A*Rama Milton in Brisbane’s inner west was recently awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award at the sign franchise giant’s Australasian EXPO Conference in Melbourne.

Since opening in early 2003, husband and wife team John and Wendy Morgan have grown the business by double-digits every year.  In 2011 they are ranked first in Australia for overall revenue and in the top 5 amongst the 850+ SIGNARAMA stores globally.

Mark Standen has become the latest 6P Green Program Licensee and will soon be delivering the business sustainability program to his network of organisations in South Australia.

Mark says" I believe there is growing pressure on organisations to adopt sustainable practices and the 6P Green Program gives me a ready-made and proven tool to assist companies of all sizes fulfil their environmental responsibilities ".

Business is Buzzing at Muzz Buzz

2011 has been another big year for Muzz Buzz with another 7 drive thru stores established, 1 in each of Qld, SA, and Victoria and another 4 in WA. There are at least another 12 stores progressing towards opening later this year and into 2012 including a move towards more stores in regional Western Australia with the opening of our Busselton store (or Buzzelton as we prefer to call it) scheduled for early next month.

During the year Muzz Buzz moved to a warehouse/distribution model which means Muzz Buzz is now warehousing and distributing most of its products, rather than relying on suppliers to deliver products directly into stores. This gives Muzz Buzz more control over its supply chain, means franchisees can order and receive deliveries of a large portion of their products from the one supplier, and has improved Muzz Buzz’s margins allowing us to put more resources back into the operational support of the stores.

International expansion continues for Muzz Buzz with joint ventures established in Turkey and Belarus, and master franchises granted for Singapore and New Zealand. It is anticipated that stores will be opened in each of those countries within the next few months. Letters of intent have been signed for the establishment of joint ventures in a number of other countries.

Understanding the psychology of sales is crucial to any business wanting to remain competitive in the 21st century. For a salesperson, superior selling skills are the difference between earning a good income and struggling to pay the bills each month. The sales force of any organisation is its backbone. A company may have the best product or service in the world, but if they don’t know how to sell their offering, the majority will never know about it or get to experience it.

Despite the crucial role that sales plays in the success of a business, most salespeople are trained ‘on the job’ and do not receive any formal or ongoing training in their field. They believe they are trying hard to sell their company’s product and when they don’t achieve a sale, they chalk it up to ‘bad luck’. These salespeople do not understand sales techniques or the psychology of selling. In fact, the majority of salespeople are in this group. It is a well-known statistic that in professions where sales is the key to revenue, 5% of the salespeople earn 95% of the money. How do they do this?
