Big Dad's Pies is 100% Australian-Owned with 39 stores and still growing. 2008 is our 6th year of operations and we owe our success to "Big Dad". Noel Donnelly, born in 1924 started his pastry cooking career in Toowoomba at 13 years old. His grandchildren call him "Big Dad", the family name for Granddad. So it was logical that his son, Stephen would call their first pie shop "Big Dad's Pies". Big Dad created the "biggest and best" pies around. They are an average 300 grams and the meat in our pies is 95% fat free. His great recipes & processes mean each Pie Shop sells a range of quality hot products and cakes, without needing on-site bakers. Our Pie Shops are fresh, modern and clean with a preparation area in full view of customers. Pre-filled pie cases are ready for each site "unlidded" and fresh daily. By Franchisee's "finishing" the pies as needed, regular bakes can be done throughout the day.
